This year I’ve definitely made a more conscious effort to focus on engagements, couples sessions and weddings; and by a more conscious effort and I mean saying no to photography inquires that isn’t one of the 3 mentioned session types. In the past I said yes to basically every inquire type (with the exception of maternity & newborns; I’ll probably never shoot those) because I was just thrilled people were interested in my work/interested in working with me. But, I’ve been doing this for a bit now and I’ve come to realize my heart just isn’t into family sessions and headshots as much as it is into capturing love. And while I do enjoy a family session here and there, there are photographers out there who only do family sessions because they love it so much; and you deserve a photographer who loves doing it and can really do a bang up job for you.
But, with that being said, I do like to change things up sometimes. So on the rare occasion I do get an inquire for something like this, senior photos, I’ll step out of my world of weddings. Because it’s important to step outside of your comfort zone right?
