Engagement sessions are a great opportunity to get photos of you two just being yourselves; or enjoying your favorite things today. You’ll get beautiful photos of you together at your wedding all dolled up so why not use your engagement session to get photos of you looking a little more like your everyday selves?
I love these two did just that. Having your photo taken can be uncomfortable so I’m always encouraging clients to think of locations they love and could be comfortable in (even with a camera shoved in their face). Opting out of beautiful gardens or newly blooming parks, they decided to stay in their own neighborhood. Drinking beer and martinis at one of their favorite restaurants and strolling up and down the streets.
Location: Norton Commons & Mercato Italiano Trattoria & Market
Photographer’s Note: I emailed the general manager of Mercato’s prior to the session and asked permission to shoot some photos in there. They were more than welcoming but I highly recommend you do the same if you’re interesting in shooting there.
We did take a few photos on the porch of Chateau Bourbon, however, this is privately owned property and an operating B&B. Photos of any kind there without permission is not ok. You must ask permission. My clients know the owner of the establishment and asked on their behalf.
